On 16 January 2014, the Hurun Best of The Best Awards was announced as part of the Hurun Report Chinese Luxury Consumer Survey 2013 in Shanghai. Wanda Hotels and Resorts received the  “Luxury Hotel Brand Star Performer” award, marking the company’s second time to receive an honor at the “Hurun Best of The Best Awards”.

This is the tenth year of the Chinese Luxury Consumer Survey, issued by the Hurun Research Institute. The survey aims to disclose the changes and preferences of Chinese HNWI’s in terms of brand recognition, consumer habits and lifestyles in an attempt to provide a description of their changing lifestyles. The Best Star Performer Award belongs to the most important Best Star Performance series among the Best of The Best Awards. It is for the industry-recognized brand with the most prominent development achievements over the past year.

The selection process takes four months, and involves face-to-face interviews with nearly one thousand HNWI’s in the industry before the Hurun Report Chinese Luxury Consumer Survey is ready to be issued. With the proud achievement of nine newly-opened proprietary brand hotels in 2013, along with the 54 five-star and above luxury hotels under investment (or management) in China, Wanda Hotels and Resorts stood out among fierce competition to become the sole winner of the Luxury Hotel Brand Star Performer Award with an outstanding comprehensive score.
